FELLOWSHIP

The Bible advises us to continue in fellowship with other believers. There is a reason for that! It edifies us, keeps us accountable, makes us more transparent and unplugs us from what can become secluded, self-centered lives. We learn to share, invite-in, commune and interact with other believers.

GENEROSITY

We are givers at heart and we model that in our lives. We believe in giving so that we are better able to give back. We invite our church body to give to any of our local missions or sponsored missionaries on a regular basis, as well as to the mission of this local church through supporting staff and building needs. You can access the Calvary giving page by clicking here.

GROWTH

If you attend Calvary Bible Church and there is no spiritual growth in your life, then we invite you to ask the question, “Why?” We would love to walk with you as you seek that answer. It is so important to us that you take away real life application, not just spiritually, but for your family, finances and all areas of your life. God is our source of joy, and our deliverer.

WHAT TO EXPECT

It can be intimidating to walk into a church for the first time. Whether you’ve attended church before, or this is all new for you, we are glad you’re here and hope you feel welcome!
A typical Sunday at Calvary looks like this:

9:30 AM Adult Sunday School takes place in the library. Kids meet downstairs or in the gym for Kids Club- a time of games and crafts. Coffee and tea are available in the lobby. The adult Sunday School time is used to dive deeper into the academic side of Scripture. The Bible is a historical book rich with details about events which took place thousands of years ago. All are welcome to attend Sunday School, the current study is about becoming Disciples of the Word.

10:45 AM Worship Service begins in the sanctuary. As humans, there is an innate desire to worship deep within our souls. Whether we worship money, success, family, security, fame, respect, or any number of other idols, our hearts are designed to seek to worship. As believers, we are called to worship the one true God. Worship happens through song, prayer, giving, and interacting with God. This service is focused on revering God and responding to His goodness. The Bible is preached in a verse by verse format. Songs are sung that remind us who God is and who He has made us to be. An offering is received so the church can continue to operate with staff and building maintenance, as well as to support missionaries we care for around the world.

CHILDREN are dismissed partway through the service (look for the GREEN slide on the front screen to indicate dismissal). Kids ages 3-11 meet an usher at the back of the sanctuary and are walked downstairs to the Children’s Church classroom. At this time, they learn a Bible story, answer questions about that story, and do a craft or coloring sheet associated with the story. Snacks are served and a game is played. When the weather is nice, kids are supervised outside on the play equipment after the lesson. Safety is a priority for Calvary kids. There is always an usher with eyes on the entry doors to the church building.
NURSERY is available in the Fellowship Hall for infants through age 2. There is a nursing mother’s room available in the women’s restroom area.
Why dismiss kids from the service?
We feel parents need time to nourish their spiritual growth without distraction. Dismissing kids gives parents the opportunity to focus in as well as allows kids to learn a spiritual lesson at their level of understanding. Parents are the spiritual leaders of their children, we hope you take time to ask your child what they learned during Children’s Church and how that applies to the way they live their lives.

There is no such thing as a perfect church. We are all human. We are all completely dependent on a Savior, Jesus Christ. Churches are flawed and sometimes messy. No single church meets the needs and expectations of everyone who attends. However, there is an indescribable richness to coming together with fellow believers and choosing to look past differences in style or opinions and, instead, worship a good and holy God with unity and love for each other. We all need community. You are invited to join us here, in the Calvary Bible Church community of believers. Talk to someone at the service, or fill out a connection card to find out how to become more plugged in.

BELIEFS

1)  The Scriptures of the Old and New Testament are verbally and plenarily inspired of God and inerrant in the original writings, and are of supreme and final authority in faith and life.  We believe that dispensationalism is the result of a consistent, literal, grammatical and historical interpretation of Scripture.  2)  We believe in one God, eternally consisting of three Persons:  God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. 3)  We believe that Jesus Christ is true deity, co-equal with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit.  His humanity was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and is therefore true man. 4)  We believe the Holy Spirit to be a Person, co-equal with God the Father and God the Son.  We believe that His ministry is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, and during this dispensation to convict men, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct, seal, empower and sanctify the believer for godly living and service.  Believers sealed by the Holy Spirit are sealed unto the day of completed redemption. 5)  We believe that Adam and Eve were created in the image and likeness of God, that Adam sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God, and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature. 6)  We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a substitutionary sacrifice, and that He was buried and bodily rose again.  All who believe in Him are justified on the grounds of His shed blood and thus are born again of the Holy Spirit and become children of God and temples of the Holy Spirit.  We believe in the eternal security of every person who has trusted in Jesus Christ as personal Savior. 7)  We believe that the local church is an assembly of believers, organized for worship, work and fellowship.  We believe that the two ordinances of the church are water baptism and the Communion, neither of which has any merit for salvation, and that the mode of baptism is immersion because it best exemplifies our identification with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection.  We believe that the local church is an independent and self-governing assembly responsible alone to Christ Who is its Savior and Lord, and that the Body of Christ is a spritual organism made up of all believers everywhere in Christ. 8)  We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into Heaven, and in His present life there for us as High Priest and Advocate.  We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting, conscious punishment of the lost. 9)  We belive in “That Blessed Hope,” the personal, pretribulational, premillennial and imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

If you have questions or would like Scripture references to go along with these statements, please email aaronhulbert@gmail.com.
